隨園的传承

隨園的美食渊源可追溯至 清·乾隆十三年(1748年),当时著名学者与诗人 袁枚 购得这座传奇园林——它正是经典名著《红楼梦》中“大观园”的灵感所在。作为江南三大名园之一,隨園不仅承载了深厚的文化底蕴,也见证了袁枚以美食为学问的执着。 历经四十余年的钻研与搜集,袁枚记录了 326道传统菜谱,保留并传承了十四至十八世纪的经典烹饪技艺。这份文化与味觉的遗产,至今仍为我们的菜单带来源源不断的灵感。

My favourite Shanghainese food in town. Reservation is required. Big portions and decent prices. I would recommend the Woton Chicken Soup. I was shocked by how big their small portion was. The chicken soup was creamy, the dumplings were filled and flavourful, lots of veggies and a huge chicken. The Pan Fried Meat Dumplings (锅贴) and Xiaolongbao (小笼包)is also really decent. Served very hot. ......

Had a great meal with family not long ago. Wonderful atmosphere, layout a little tight but good enough. Food was very tasty. Order the Shanghai rice cakes, chicken noodle, fried buns, Xiang long bao, and others. Had a great time. Parking was limited but adequate.

To be clear first, this is actually a restaurant more specialized in Huaiyang cuisine rather than a Shanghainese restaurant.
Some of the best dishes include Sangji Bun and Tofu Noddle (揚州煮乾絲), which are both juicy and authentic. This place perhaps has the best Sangji Bun in the whole area, with is a must try

This restaurant specializes in Southeastern Chinese cuisine and offers a descent dining environment. The manager provides excellent service, and the dishes are usually quite good. It’s a popular restaurant, so you may need to queue up for dinner sometimes.

Very authentic Shanghainese cuisine. Generous portions as well. Definitely one of our go to's.

If you are eating dinner there, I would strongly recommend eating the first round, so 5 or 5:30pm, because parking is very limited. There's also paid street parking on Alexandra Road.

Also make sure to make a reservation, especially on the weekends, to make sure you get a table!
